Requirements for Studying Accounting in Kenya

  1. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education(KCSE)

    You must complete your secondary education before you can study accounting in Kenya. Therefore, you must have a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education or an equivalent certificate. Additionally, you need to have at least a grade of C+ in your results. Secondly, you should have a minimum of C in Mathematics, English or Swahili

  2. Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education(KACE)

    You must have a minimum of two principal passes in your certificate. Additionally, these subjects must be a minimum of Grade C. Secondly, you must have a minimum of a credit pass in Mathematics in your KCE.

  3. Diploma in Accounting

    If you have a diploma, you can apply to study accounting in Kenya. However, this diploma must be from a recognised institution. Additionally, you must have a mean grade of C at KCSE. Secondly, you can have an O’ level division certificate.

  4. Professional Certificate

    You can use professional certificates such as Certified Public Accountants(CPA) or Certified Public Secretaries(CPS). However, you must have a Part 2 of these certificates. Additionally, it would be best if you had a KSCE with a mean of grade C.
