Requirements for Studying Physiotherapy in Germany

1. Academic Qualifications

   You need to have a secondary school leaving certificate that is equivalent to a German certificate. You need to have good grades and a strong foundation in subjects such as Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Additionally, you need to make sure that your certificate is eligible and equivalent to the German certificate. However, if your certificate is not eligible, you need to attend the Studienkolleg (one-year preparatory course) and sit for the Feststellungsprüfung Exam.

2. Meet the Aggregate Score

   You need to have a high-grade score or meet the aggregate score to be able to study physiotherapy in Germany. Therefore, you should have at least 70% or a GPA of 3.0.

3. Submit Academic Proficiency

   You need to submit your academic transcripts during your application. Generally, your transcripts should contain all the courses you studied as well as the grades.

4. German Language Proficiency

   Most of the universities in Germany teach in German. Therefore, you need to be familiar with the German language to be able to learn in those schools. You should have a German language proficiency at least B1/B2 level. You can write tests such as TestDaf Level 4, Goethe Institute Certificate Level C2 and DSH German Language Examination Level 2 or 3.

The duration for studying physiotherapy in Germany is four years. However, a postgraduate degree, such as a master’s degree in physiotherapy, lasts for one to two years of study in Germany.
