Requirements for studying computer science in Ghana

West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
You must have a minimum credit pass in your WASSCE. Additionally, you need to have a minimum of credits in three core subjects such as English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science. Furthermore, you should also have a minimum of credits in elective subjects.

Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)
SSSCE Candidates should have six (6) credits in their results. Additionally, this should comprise three core subjects as well as three elective subjects.

General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level Candidates
You should have a minimum of pass in three (3) subjects. Additionally, you must have had credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE ordinary-level subjects such as English Language, Mathematics, and Science subject.

HND Diploma Holders
You must have at least a Second Class Lower Division from a recognized institution. Additionally, you must have at least a two-year post-HND working experience. You may be considered for admission into level 200.

West African Examination Council Zone
This is for applicants within the West African Examination Council zone who do not offer Integrated Science. However, you must have a pure science background. You must apply with four elective subjects. You should apply to subjects such as Biology, Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics.

Mature Applicants
You must be at least 25 years old to qualify for this category. You need to have an O’level certificate with credits in at least five subjects. These should be subjects such as English and Mathematics. Additionally, you will be required to write an Entrance examination in Mathematics. Furthermore, you will be required to attend an oral interview.

English Language Proficiency
You need to write an English Language Proficiency test if English is not your first language. This course is taught in English in Ghana. You can write tests such as IELTS or TOEFL.

Submit your Academic Transcripts
If you have completed a first degree, you need to submit your academic transcripts. This should contain all the courses as well as the grades. Additionally, you need to submit your transcript in English.
